The
Team Diagnostic is an innovative approach to assessment and intervention
for team performance. Unlike other assessments, the Team Diagnostic views
teams not as a collection of individuals but as a self-organizing system
of relationships and interacting influences, all of which affect the performance
and satisfaction of individuals and of the system as a whole. It provides
a deeper and more accurate view of the team as a system, and provides a
powerful structure for coaching the team to optimal productivity and effectiveness,
enabling them to use conflict creatively, foster innovation, and develop
strategies and structures that leverage team strengths. By focusing
on creating a high-functioning system, every team member is empowered to
perform at his or her individual best.
This
assessment was developed by Team Diagnostic
International (TDI ™) and is designed to provide a benchmark and
structure for ongoing team development. The assessment and team coaching
model have their foundation in the most recent thinking in the areas of
System Learning, Emotional Intelligence, Appreciative Inquiry, team research
from leading universities, and the work of the Center for Right Relationship
™, leading authorities in the field of team development.

Research

in which they excel and those areas which could be enhanced.
Productivity
factors are strengths which support the team in achieving
results, accomplishing tasks and staying on course to reach goals and objectives.
Positivity factors are strengths which focus on
the interrelationships between team members and the spirit or tone of the
team as a system. Combined, productivity and positivity
are the essential.
There are numerous graphical
representations in a 31 page report of a team’s (“system’s”)
results. Reviewing and interpreting the results with Organizational and
Relationship Systems Coaches is where the real value exists. The biggest
benefit comes through the skilled facilitation to help the team’s
“story” unfold as the inter-relationships are examined and as
the skilful coaches lead the team in exercises customized to enhance the
